Welcome - Benvenuto a Lajatico
Settling in on Sunday afternoon we welcome you with an aperitivo and light dinner. Here, you’ll have the chance to explore Lajatico's rich artistic and cultural heritage. Yes, the birth place of Andrea Bocelli. The week ahead offers mornings of scenic walks, coffee amongst the locals or time to yourself in your own apartment.
Explore the Village of Montespertoli
An historical tour of Castello Sonnino where you’ll uncover its influencing political heritage. Learn the craft of "vinsanto" and winemaking. A long Tuscan lunch with accompanying wines will complete this dive into a Noble yet humble family.
An Afternoon of Grazing
After some time spent exploring Lucca, we’ll drive to the Lucchese Hills and spend an early evening delving into their olive oil and farming heritage. Proudly presented by the 3rd generation of this famous Lucchese family.
A Day with Artisans
Journey into an ancient Etruscan hamlet, where local artisans reveal their secrets in pasta, pizza and cheese making. Tuscany’s award-winning baker will guide us through a pizza-making lesson using a 150-year-old "lievito madre." We’ll lunch at a cherished local spot too.
The Microclimates of Maremma
This excursion takes us to the unique terrain of Maremma, where we’ll visit a regenerative vegetable farm and taste its produce in the vineyards’ shade. A short drive away, we’ll explore the mediaeval village of Bolgheri.
UNESCO Treats
A day open to suggestions and spontaneity - but LMT highly recommends leisurely strolls through Volterra and San Gimignano. Explore the stunning history or sit an absorb it. Do as you wish.
An Afternoon by the Sea
In Castiglioncello, the pace is yours to set. Wander through umbrella pines, stroll along the seaside promenade, explore charming shops, bask in the sun, or take a refreshing dip in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Lunch at our favourite spot is a must, or you can join the locals for an aperitivo rounding out a tranquil Tuscan day by the coast.
